Bank Papua provides convenience for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing credit without collateral or guarantees.
Head of Bank Papua Timika Branch, Alexander Iwan said, in 2022, Bank Papua has a new program, namely, the Acceleration of Regional Financial Access (PAPEDA). This program itself provides assistance or credit, as well as guidance to MSME actors.
The program provided is the provision of credit with a limit of Rp. 10 million, with the aim of helping MSME actors who have difficulty in accessing capital and guarantees.
"Because this is a new program, we will continue to disseminate it through community organizations such as KKJB Mimika," said Iwan when met on the sidelines of the Mimika Work Meeting (Raker) III for United Java Family Harmony (KKJB), Sunday (30/1/2022) yesterday at a hotel on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Mimika, Papua.
He said, although there is no guarantee in taking this loan, MSME actors must have a business, which will be surveyed by officers.
This business itself as collateral, in order to be able to repay the loan.
"If there is no effort, it is feared that it will be difficult to return it, which will result in the absence of a coaching context. Because the money ran out but the business didn't work. In addition, this is also an evaluation for the person," he said.
Iwan said, if the business has grown, the loan limit can increase.
“If they are at a higher level, then they already know there is interest and guarantees. Where the guarantee is 30 percent and the interest is still relatively low,” he explained.
