Manifestation of TNI's Love for Students in the RI-Papua New Guinea Border

As a tangible manifestation of TNI's love in educating the human resources of Indonesian Papuan children, TNI Soldiers who are members of the RI-PNG Pamtas Task Force of the Infantry Battalion MR 411 / PDW conducted a program of teaching reading, writing, and arithmetic at YPK Sota Elementary School on the border of RI with Papua New Guinea.

Dansatgas Pamtas RI-PNG Yonif 411 / PDW Kostrad Major Inf Rizky Aditya through Kapendam XVII / Cenderawasih, Colonel Cpl Eko Daryanto, Wednesday (26/2) revealed a teaching program from Satgas soldiers at the border took part directly to schools to become teachers to help Elementary school students in their respective assignment areas.

The activity helped teach Kostrad 411 / PDW Task Force soldiers since July 2019 until now held around 12 schools spread across Sota District, Naukenjerai District, Eligobel District and Ulilin District.

"The goal is to participate in educating the children of the nation's generation, besides that it is also one of the efforts to help the lack of teachers which is still an obstacle for schools on the RI-PNG border," Kapendam said in a written statement.

Dansatgas, Major Rizky Aditya, added that one of the members assigned to teach was Serma Catur Budi Satriyo, a member of the Kota Sota Post who helped teach at the Sota Christian Education Foundation (YPK) Elementary School.

In daily life Serma Catur has the responsibility given by the school to teach reading, writing and arithmetic material.

Meanwhile, Edowardus Burman Tenjap, one of the fourth grade students at SD YPK Sota, admitted he was happy and proud to be taught the lesson of reading, writing and arithmetic by the TNI father who served at the border.

"Thank you, sir, the army for teaching us to learn to read, write and count, yes we got a lot of knowledge from the TNI teaching program at the border," the fourth grade student said.

One teacher at SD YPK Sota, Julianus Noya, S.Pd said he represented the teachers to thank them because nearly six months of TNI soldiers serving on the border had helped the school carry out the teaching and learning process of students. "Yes, the TNI program teaches the impact is very good," he said.
