The Government Offers Green Investment Products to Investors

The state will offer 'green' investment products to investors, both domestic and foreign. The government plans to hold a high level meeting on green investment in Sorong, Papua Indonesia.

Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan as the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment explained that 'green' investment products that will be offered to investors include hydropower or hydropower, and plantation commodities that support natural sustainability.

"The products offered are about hydropower, as well as nutmeg commodities. We don't want any more oil palm, enough is enough, moratorium. We want nutmeg, coffee, chocolate, like that," he said in Jakarta, Monday (2/24/2020) .

Related to the potential investment value of green investment, Luhut did not want to mention. According to him, this investment is also for the level of small and medium businesses (SMEs). So don't just think about large-value investments.

"Yes, that's UKM, we see, so don't just think too big," he said.

It is planned that the government will hold a meeting in Sorong Papua Indonesia to follow up on this matter. The meeting will be held on 27 February 2019. Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia, after the meeting with Luhut explained there are many potential 'green' investments in Papua and West Papua.

"There is a lot of potential, firstly it is fisheries, mangroves must be filled. Secondly, we make nutmeg gardens. Third is chocolate. Fourth is the problem of MSMEs for coffee, many also there. From upstream to downstream," he explained .
