Smart city program services are now included in Jayapura City, Papua. Jayapura City Government is eyeing the program for the vision of urban development in integrating information and communication technology (ICT) along with internet technology to manage regional assets.

"Jayapura City Government really hopes that the realization of Jayapura City as a smart city service needs to be supported together. He said, to realize a smart city, its assets include information systems of local government agencies, schools, libraries, transportation systems, hospitals, power plants, water supply networks, waste management, law enforcement, and other community services.

Smart cities are aimed at using urban information technology and technology, according to Mayor Tommy Mano, to improve the efficiency of services to the community.

"This allows city officials to interact directly with the community and urban infrastructure and monitor the condition and development of the city to create a better quality of life," hopes Mayor Tommy Mano.

He hoped, with the use of sensors integrated with real-time monitoring systems, data collected from citizens and devices could be processed and analyzed various information and knowledge collected would be the key to overcoming inefficiencies.

"Making Jayapura City as a smart city has become a city government program, yes we hope for the support of other stakeholders like what Bank Indonesia has done by promoting QRIS services through running competitions," he said.

QRIS was prepared by Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Payment System Association (ASPI) using the international standard EMV Co.
The QRIS is planned to be used to support the interconnection of instruments for a wider payment system and to accommodate country-specific needs.
