The government built 95 houses specifically for low-income people in the province of West Papua. The development is divided into three districts namely Raja Ampat, Manokwari and Arfak Mountains.
"We will continue to encourage equitable housing development for people in West Papua through the construction of special houses," said Head of the Specific Non Vertical Work Unit (SNVT) Housing Provision of the Directorate General of Housing Ministry of PUPR Pither Pakabu in a written statement, Thursday, April 2, 2020.
Pither explained the construction of special houses was part of the Million Houses Program. The PUPR Ministry hopes that the construction of this special house can be put to good use and to improve the welfare of the community.

This year, SNVT Provision of Housing in West Papua Province received an allocation of four housing development packages specifically for Low Income Communities (MBR).
"The details of the special house construction are 30 units of Raja Ampat Regency, 25 units of Manokwari Regency and 40 units of Arfak Mountains Regency," he explained.
Based on data in the SNVT Housing Provision of West Papua Province, the construction of special houses and PSU in West Papua Province Koramil Arfak Mountains Regency is located in Kampong Ulong, Anggi District.
The number of houses to be built is 20 special housing units of 45 square meters with a value of Rp298 million per unit. The developers used were from Papuan Native Entrepreneurs (OAP) namely CV. Tunas Barisen as a service provider.
"We will also coordinate with the Arfak Mountains Regency Housing Agency related to the names of the people who are potential recipients and take care of the temporary handover process so that the special houses can be inhabited immediately," he said.
