Papua Provincial Government Distributes PPE and Rapid Test Equipment to 8 Hospitals

The Papua Provincial Government has distributed 1,965 personal protective equipment (PPE) and 1,560 rapid diagnostic test kits to eight hospitals in the city of Jayapura to support the handling of COVID-19 cases, said Papua Province COVID-19 Task Force for Combating Task Force, Silwanus Sumule.

"In Jayapura City there are eight hospitals, there are three hospitals owned by the Papua Provincial Government and five partner hospitals or private hospitals," Silwanus said in Jayapura.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, up to April 10, 2020 the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 positive in Papua Province cumulatively 38 cases, three of which caused death.

In the territory of Indonesia, until 11 April 2020 the cumulative number of COVID-19 patients was 3,842 people, 327 of whom died and 286 were cured.

Local transmissions of COVID-19, among others, were reported in DKI Jakarta, Banten (Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City and South Tangerang City), Bali (Badung Regency, Buleleng Regency, Jembrana Regency, Denpasar City), West Java (Kota Bandung, Bekasi Regency, Bekasi City, Depok City, Bogor Regency, Bogor City, and Karawang Regency), and Central Java (Semarang City, Surakarta City).

Local transmission was reported in East Java (Kediri Regency, Malang Regency, Magetan Regency, Sidoarjo Regency and Surabaya City), West Kalimantan (Pontianak City), East Kalimantan (Balikpapan City), South Kalimantan (Banjarmasin City), Sulawesi South (Makassar City), Southeast Sulawesi (Kendari City), and South Sumatra (Prabumulih City).
