The National Police held a simultaneous social service throughout Indonesia on Friday (5/15) to help the residents affected by the economy due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The social service activity entitled "The Social Service Movement of Polri Cares for COVID-19" was as stipulated in the Secret Telegram Letter (TR) of the National Police Chief General Idham Azis numbered ST / 1412 / V / KEP. / 2020 dated May 6, 2020 and signed by As SDM National Police Chief Inspector General Pol Eko Indra Heri.
"Yes, the telegram was a social service program, it was planned that the Deputy Chief of Police would open the event," said Police Public Relations Kadiv Brigadier General Raden Prabowo Argo Yuwono, through a press release, in Jakarta on Thursday.
The social service in the form of giving of groceries was targeting recipients namely orphans, the needy, and temporary workers and Polri families directly affected by COVID-19.
Argo ensured that the distribution of nine-basic necessities was still carried out according to the COVID-19 preventive health protocol standard recommended by the government, such as the application of maintaining physical distance and requiring the use of masks.
In addition, the provision of groceries will also be carried out by door to door or directly to the homes of the residents most affected from the Corona pagebluk.
