7 Papuan detainees in the East Kalimantan Regional Police (Kaltim) were the masterminds of the riots during demonstrations in Papua and West Papua in 2019. And not a political prisoner.

They are Buktar Tabuni, Agus Kossay, Fery Combo, Alexander Gobay, Steven Itlay, Hengki Hilapok, and Irwanus Uropmabin.

Papua Province Chairperson Mandala Trikora Ali Albert Kabiay said the 7 detainees were the mastermind of the riots during a demonstration in Papua and West Papua last year.

"Those who cause riots and are purely criminal. Let us together submit the legal process to the government in accordance with applicable regulations in the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, "he said, Friday, June 5, 2020.

"What's wrong is still wrong and what's right is still right," he continued.

He also reminded people not to look at racism cases that occurred in the United States and made a comparison with conditions in Indonesia.

"It can't be like that because of course the protap of security officers in the United States and Indonesia is different. This is evidenced by every problem in Indonesia, security officers still prioritize the settlement by means of kinship and mutual cooperation. therefore, let's instill the noble values ​​of Pancasila into our lives, "he said.

Ali also suggested that the community not be provoked by the news related to this case. He instead hopes to remain calm and focus on helping the government in the fight against the corona pandemic (covid-19) in Papua.

He also appealed to young Papuans to stay at home, learn from home, follow the government's advice in combating co-19.

"Don't be easily influenced by a handful of illegal groups that always disrupt security stability, such as the KNPB, ULMWP, and other similar groups," he said.

Ali also asked Papuan community and religious leaders to jointly maintain the unity and integrity of the nation, and friendship based on love.
