Task Force 411 Kostrad Help Residents Make Traditional Boats

In order to participate in preserving indigenous Papuan local wisdom, the Satgas Pamtas Yonif MR 411 / PDW Kostrad Pos Kondo helped build a traditional "kole-kole" boat owned by residents of Kampung Kondo, Naukenjerai District in Merauke, Papua, Thursday (06/11/2020).

Dansatgas explained, Papua is an island in the eastern tip of Indonesia which is full of unique and special traditions, be it from musical instruments, culture, dance, souvenirs to the traditional transportation of its people, so it has the title as "Little Heaven Falls to Earth".

As a TNI soldier assigned to the border area of ​​the Republic of Indonesia-PNG southern Merauke Regency, the Satgas Pamtas Yonif MR 411 / PDW Kostrad in addition to carrying out its main duties also has territorial activities such as melestraikan Papuan local wisdom.

"This was done by 5 Kondo Pos personnel led by Kopda Anto Prasetyawan on Thursday (11/6) morning, helping residents make traditional boats (kole-kole) as traditional transportation for the Kondo community to look for fish," Rizky said.

The activity was also to preserve the culture of local Papuan wisdom. Besides that, to establish intimacy and strengthen the relationship with the people of Kanum Tribe before the retirement will soon be over.
