Internet development in Papua.
Currently, Telkomsel continues to increase the capacity of its internet network, both capacity and quality in the Central Highlands region of Papua, especially in the Jayawijaya Regency area.
Regarding network development in the Wamena area, technically since June 16 2020, Telkomsel's network, especially in the Jayawijaya Regency area, for the first time has been connected to the East Palapa Ring (PRT) infrastructure through strong collaboration with the Telkom Group, where previously only used transport access backbone via satellite (IDR).
Then on June 24, 2020, Telkomsel received additional bandwidth capacity through PRT of 200 Mbps which was then integrated directly by Telkomsel. So that the total bandwidth capacity of Telkomsel in the Wamena area currently reaches 1,025 Mbps. With the current capacity, internet services in the Wamena area are getting better than before.
Telkomsel and the Telkom Group continue to make various efforts to maximize all available assets, while still coordinating with all relevant stakeholders from the Government of Indonesia through the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information, especially BAKTI in developing telecommunications networks to the 3T area, to fulfill the company's responsibility for Universal Service Obligations (KPU) or Universal Service Obligation (USO) which has been established by the government. Telkomsel also continues to strengthen collaboration with the Jayawijaya District Government.
Telkomsel will continue to strengthen its best efforts to always provide leading telecommunications services for customers from Sabang to Marauke, without exception Papua Province, including Jayawijaya Regency.
