Koiwai Tribe Supports Peaceful and Transparent Pilkada
Dozens of people from the Koiwai Tribe came to the KPU Kaimana office to provide support for the simultaneous regional elections in 2020.
At the KPU office, participants in the action led by Tahjudin Tambawang, the Koiwai Tribe Head, were received directly by the Kaimana KPU Chair and Commissioner. In the meeting that was held inside the KPU office, Tahjudin also submitted 5 points of statement of their position.
The contents of the statement, among others, asked the KPU to carry out the pilkada stages always based on the applicable regulations, and to urge the KPU to always be neutral and transparent in organizing the election stages.
The Kaimana KPU must also use professional field officers and pay attention to health protocols in carrying out all stages of the Pilkada to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Responding to this, the Chairman of KPU Kaimana, Kristianus Mathias Maturbongs SSos gave his appreciation to the Koiwai tribe for providing support so that the Pilkada in Kaimana Regency could run peacefully. He emphasized that the KPU Kaimana is committed to implementing all stages of Pilkada in an open and transparent manner.
He then invited all the people in Kaimana Regency to jointly oversee the stages carried out from beginning to end, so as not to arouse suspicion, let alone fraud.
He also invited all people who have the right to vote not to abstain, but to participate in creating a successful and peaceful Kaimana Pilkada, because people's choices determine the fate of Kaimana in the future.
