Papua Develops Because of Special Autonomy

The traditional leader of Elseng in Keerom Regency Ismail Ulop spoke about the sustainability of the special autonomy in Papua.

According to him, Otsus, which will continue into volume II, is still a hot topic that continues to roll in the midst of Papuan society and presents various kinds of responses ranging from positive to negative ones.

However, said Ismail, the sustainability of Otsus for the Papuan people is very important, because with the existence of Otsus Papua, there are many changes and can compete with other regions in Indonesia.

Otsus may run for the sake of regional interests, especially in hinterlands which are still lacking

He feels that Otsus must continue because development in this area is still very, very limited and not like development in other regions.

For people who reject Otsus, they speak only for themselves, not for development.
