1 Papuan KKB Member Dies during Gunfight with Officials

Another gun battle took place between the Nemangkawi Task Force and the Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) led by Lekagak Telenggen. In that incident, three KKB members were shot and one of them was said to have died.

Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force, Kombes Iqbal Alqudussy, said the incident occurred today, Thursday (10/6/2021) in Eromaga Village, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency.

"The KKB terrorist group has been increasingly under pressure, three of its members have been paralyzed and we have arrested the hoax spreader. For other hoax spreaders, the TNI and Polri should be prepared to enforce the law," said Iqbal in his statement

According to Iqbal, information from the community and drone monitoring results showed that there were members of the KKB who suffered gunshot wounds on behalf of Tinggiter and Manis. Meanwhile, another person named Keminus Murib died.

"The state will not lose to a handful of people with political desires who victimize civil society and spread terror in the Indonesian province of Papua," explained Iqbal.

s Nemangkawi Kombes M Iqbal Alqudusy said the arrest was made on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at his residence on Jalan Perikanan Darat, Merauke Regency, Papua, at around 22:35 WIT.

"Don't make fake or untrue news, provoke the public with hateful news that results in hostility in Papua," said Iqbal when confirmed.

According to Iqbal, EKM is also suspected of spreading false information or hoaxes on his Facebook account. Currently the Cyber ​​Task Force team has taken him to the Merauke Police for a digital forensic examination of the evidence that was secured.

"The Papuan people want to live in peace," explained Iqbal.

For his actions, the perpetrator is suspected of violating Article 45A paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Indonesian Law Number 11 of 2008.
