564 PLN officers are alerted to secure electricity for PON XX Papua

PT PLN (Persero) will alert 564 officers to secure electricity supply during the XX National Sports Week (PON). The plan is that PON will be held in Papua Province on October 2-15, 2021.

General Manager of PLN Main Unit for Papua and West Papua Region (UIWP2B) Abdul Farid said the officers will be on duty from 19 September to 17 October 2021.

"We are trying to finish the physical work and other readiness in terms of electricity," said Abdul, Sunday (11/7/2021).

Farid added that his party also continues to coordinate with related parties to ensure that what is prepared is in accordance with the electricity needs of the XX PON.

"PLN has also prepared supporting equipment to ensure that the electricity supply remains safe in the event of a disturbance in the main system," he said.

He explained that the equipment prepared includes mobile substation units (UGB), mobile cable units (UKB), mobile cable and cubicle units (UKKB), mobile UPS and mobile generators.

"We will standby the supporting equipment at venue locations and strategic points during PON XX so that electricity supply is maintained," he said.

He added that apart from focusing on completing physical work, PLN also ensures that the power supply from the generators in each location is sufficient.

"With the total power needed to electrify the entire PON competition arena, it is estimated to reach 16.21 MW," he concluded.
