Billy Mambrasar: Hopefully Thousands of New Digital Startups will be Created in Papua soon




Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko supports the implementation of the 2021 Papua Tech Festival, in Sentani, Jayapura, Thursday (28/10).

This activity is a breakthrough made by the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kememkominfo) in collaboration with the Inspirational Young Papua Movement (PMI).

This activity trains a number of young Papuan youths to become digital startups.

Papua Tech Festival 2021 will be held online and offline.

"I welcome the initiative of the Papua digital talent event held by Kominfo and Inspirational Young Papua. Because it can be an input for the national talent ecosystem," said Moeldoko in his remarks, as published Friday (29/10).

A similar view was also expressed by the Special Staff of the President, Billy Mambrasar.

He even said that President Joko Widodo welcomed the digital start-up training activities which were first held in Papua.

"A thousand digital startups and Inspirational Young Papuans in creating national talents in the digital field," he said.

The Ministry of Communication and Information is known to be actively traveling to various regions in Indonesia providing training as well as cultivation and capital, through the 1000 Digital Start-up Movement, Beta, and several other activities.

All of these activities are now included in a movement called startupdigital.id and the 2021 Papua Tech Fest activity is the first activity carried out in collaboration with the Inspirational Young Papuan community.

Papua Tech Fest 2021 has the theme 'Supporting the Nation's Digital Talent Management and Ecosystem'.

The event was held on Thursday (28/10) at 10.00 East Indonesia Time (WIT) and was attended by hundreds of Papuan youths virtually as well as limited invitees who participated in the activities in person.

There are two core activities, namely the launch of the 'Papuan Talent Management' page.

Then, training on digital literacy modules, the digital economy and digital startups.

The coordinator of the Inspirational Papua Young Movement for the Mamta region, Moses Rawar, thanked the Ministry of Communication and Information.

He hopes that through the Papua TechFest there will be a thousand new start-ups in Papua by 2025.

Support for this event was also conveyed by the Director of Regional Planning, Special Autonomy and DPOD of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Valentinus Sudaryanto Sumito.

"The government is serious about realizing Papuan human resources who are knowledgeable, skilled and professional, independent, healthy, physically and mentally, and have the competitiveness to realize these noble ideals," he said.
