Mandala Jayapura Stadium Becomes the Opening Ceremony of Peparnas

The Mandala Jayapura Stadium is confirmed to be the venue for the opening ceremony of the XVI 2021 Papua National Paralympic Sports Week (Peparnas).

The opening ceremony will be held on November 5, 2021, with 12 match locations or venues used at the Peparnas event.

The Daily Chair of PB Peparnas Papua Doren Wakerkwa confirmed that he had held a series of meetings with related parties, especially the TNI/Polri, to prepare for the opening activities which were planned to be attended by President Joko Widodo.

"The consolidation meeting for the opening ceremony has been carried out because this activity will be attended by the head of state".

"Of course, starting from the security system, traffic management and how to solve problems in sports," he explained.

Meanwhile, for security in all Peparnas activities, the Papuan Police are known to have formed a team with the assistance of the Cendrawasih Military Command XVII. No troops (TNI/Polri) were brought in from outside Papua.

It's just that the number of personnel will increase if President Joko Widodo is confirmed to attend the opening of Peparnas XVII Papua.
