Menpora Zainudin Amali is Optimistic that the XVI Papua Peparnas 2021 will run safely and smoothly

The XVI National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) 2021 will soon be held in Cendrawasih Earth, Papua.

Peparnas XVI Papua 2021 will take place from November 2 to 15, 2021.

The sporting event, which will be participated by athletes with disabilities throughout Indonesia or Peparnas XVI Papua, will compete in 12 sports.

The sports that will be competed at Peparnas XVI Papua 2021 include weight lifting, athletics, boccia, badminton, chess, judo, shooting, archery, swimming, CP football, wheelchair court tennis, and table tennis.

Peparnas XVI Papua 2021 will be held centrally in the City and District of Jayapura and will be attended by around 3000 athletes, coaches and officials from all regional contingents.

A total of 34 provinces in Indonesia took part in the celebration of the XVI Papua National Peparnas 2021.

Regarding the implementation of Peparnas XVI Papua 2021, Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali said he was very optimistic that Peparnas XVI Papua would run safely and comfortably.

The Minister of Youth and Sports added that the TNI and Polri as well as the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) would be able to carry out their duties properly, such as during the security of the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON), some time ago.

"Security efforts are still the same as during the PON, which is the responsibility of the TNI-Polri as well as the Intelligence Agency. So, everything is prepared and made comfortable," said Zainudin Amali as quoted by the People's Mind Depok.com from Antara on Monday, November 1, 2021.

Furthermore, said the Minister of Youth and Sports, his party did not have any concerns like the news circulating before the Papua PON.

During the 2021 PON XX Papua, Menpora Zainudin Amali had an office in Papua for more than 20 days.

Even at that time, Menpora had time to tour Jayapura and felt safe and comfortable in the atmosphere.

It is not surprising that the Minister of Youth and Sports is optimistic that the implementation of the Peparnas Papua which will take place in two clusters, namely the City and Jayapura Regency on November 2-15 2021, will run safely and smoothly.

In the Peparnas XVI Papua 2021 event, no less than 1,985 athletes from 34 provinces will compete in 12 sports with 602 match numbers.

Before carrying out the match, athletes from all contingents must participate in the classification and validity as participants of the XVI Papua 2020 Peparnas.

The series of opening and closing ceremonies for Peparnas XVI Papua 2021 were all held at the Mandala Stadium.
