Holding a joint iftar and open house during Lebaran for officials and officials has been prohibited by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

To support this policy, Jayapura Regent Mathius Awoitauw emphasized that his party will continue to monitor health protocols (prokes) during the fasting worship celebration in Jayapura.

Mathius Awoitauw revealed that the spread of Covid-19 in Jayapura Regency had decreased.
 
"Although the number of Covid-19 cases in Jayapura Regency is currently experiencing a decline, visits to each other, which are usually carried out in groups or in groups, must be reduced," he said.

According to Mathius Awoitauw, activities do not need to be forced. Because it could potentially increase the number of Covid-19 cases in Jayapura Regency.
 
"It doesn't have to be forced. Because we have a habit of visiting houses with groups, of course, don't force it, but it's normal. It's not like yesterday," he said.

It is said that the habit of visiting each other in groups or groups must be monitored continuously in Jayapura Regency.

"At the very least, visiting each other between families and the community during Eid is what we remind constantly," he said.

"This remains a spirit for us how every routine worship or worship for certain holidays from various religions has the same space to be able to feel it," he said.

Mathius Awoitauw said that every religious community supports and maintains tolerance with one another.
 
"We can see that tolerance between religious communities has existed for a long time. We can see for example that tomorrow's Lebaran can visit each other and this has become a model," he said.

"Diversity is harmonious. This is what all religions teach as one whole and we cannot differentiate, because God never differentiates between these things," he said.
