The Jayapura City Government has budgeted IDR 2.5 billion for handling Covid-19



The City Government (Pemkot) of Jayapura, Papua has budgeted Rp. 2.5 billion in handling the Covid-19 pandemic in 2022.

"The budget will be phased in depending on the pandemic situation, an average of IDR 1 billion per month to IDR 1.5 billion. From January-February, I don't know how much in March, what is clear is that the budget that has been issued for this year is already like that," said Rustan at the Jayapura Mayor's Office, Tuesday (22/3/2022).

Rustan said the budget for handling the Covid-19 pandemic was sourced from the Jayapura City Regional Revenue Budget (APBD) in 2022 for handling needs such as health protocol patrols, vaccinations, education, socialization, and the rental of the Papuan Education Quality Assurance Institute (LPMP) as a centralized isolation place. .
 
"For the overall budget prepared this year, I have to look again so that I don't convey the wrong message. These funds are taken from unexpected funds or DTT for urgent or priority handling," said Rustan.

Rustan hopes to continue to comply with health protocols, such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands with soap and running water, maintaining a healthy diet, vaccinations, not panicking, reducing activities outside the home, and staying away from crowds.

"We are still in the Covid-19 pandemic situation, so the Jayapura City Government continues to urge us to remain vigilant and careful because we do not know how long this pandemic will end. By complying with the prokes in accelerating the spread of Covid-19," said Rustan.
 
Previously, the Mayor of Jayapura, Benhur Tomi Mano said, the Jayapura City Government budgeted a large amount of funds for handling the Covid-19 pandemic so that all residents were healthy and not exposed to Covid-19.

"We are still taking care of residents and outsiders who were exposed to Jayapura City to recover. This is our service to the citizens and ensures the health of my citizens. I urge you to continue to obey the health procedures and carry out vaccinations to prevent exposure to Covid-19," said Tomi Mano.

Tomi Mano hopes that citizens' awareness and concern as well as the responsibility to jointly break the chain of the spread of Covid-19 are very important so that Jayapura City is back in the green zone, as happened on December 12, 2021, there is no spread of Covid-19.
