BIN Accelerates Vaccination in West Papua

The West Papua Regional State Intelligence Agency (Binda) continues to accelerate vaccination for the community, including the residents of prisons. This is what Binda Papua Barat did at the Class II B prison in Manokwari.

"This vaccination is a collaboration between BIN and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights at the central level as an effort to ensure that there is protection for prisoners in prison as the community in general gets," said Binda West Papua Vaccination Coordinator, Colonel Arh Hendra in a statement, Friday (8/4).

Hendra said that vaccination was prioritized for prisoners in prison (WBP). He continued, the doses given were mostly follow-up doses, aka on the second and third sides.

According to Hendra, vaccination targeting special groups like this is very effective in preventing the formation of Covid-19 clusters in certain places. He said that efforts to control the Covid-91 pandemic would only succeed if all communities, including inmates, had adequate immunity.

Head of Manokwari Class II B Prison, Yulius Paath appreciated the booster vaccination program that was carried out to this prison. He argues that this is a manifestation of the synergy between Manokwari Prison and Binda West Papua as well as the West Papua Provincial Government and the Health Service.

"The vaccine program at Manokwari Prison is to improve the health of the inmates and all employees," he said.
