First Type A Terminal in Jayapura Inaugurated

The Type A Terminal which is located in Entrop, South Jayapura District, Jayapura City, Papua was inaugurated, Wednesday (20/4/2022).

The inauguration was carried out by the Director of Road Transportation Infrastructure of the Directorate of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Popik Montanasyah with the Mayor of Jayapura, Benhur Tommy Mano and a number of Papua Province officials.
 
First in Papua

The Type A Terminal in Jayapura City is claimed to be the first terminal in Papua Province.

The presence of this terminal provides a new face for the progress of the city of Jayapura in Papua.

Not only that, the presence of this terminal has an impact on the flow of transportation in the center of the capital city of Papua Province.
 
Director of Road Transportation Infrastructure, Directorate of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Popik Montanasyah revealed that there are regulations regarding minimum service standards.

"This is the language. Orderly, clean and definitely not shabby. And this everyone can. Want in Java, Sumatra, East Nusa Tenggara and also in Papua," he said.

Popik explained that the flow of transportation and the economy at the terminal must be well organized, so that it runs in an orderly manner.

"It's true what the mayor said to work together to maintain order, cleanliness and security. Because it is not us who maintain security alone, but all the community to jointly maintain cleanliness inside and outside the terminal," he said.

The presence of the Type A Terminal in Jayapura City is one of the breakthroughs and progress steps for the development of Jayapura City as the provincial capital in Papua.

According to him, the most important thing to pay attention to is maintaining the existing facilities and infrastructure at the Type A Terminal of Jayapura City.

Popik revealed that future maintenance of this terminal will be borne by the Land Transportation Management Center of the Ministry of Transportation's Land Transportation Directorate for the Papua and West Papua regions.

"It will be scheduled later, so that routine maintenance is carried out on the Type A Terminal in Jayapura City," he said.
 
"This terminal will soon be filled, because it has been assessed by the Ministry of Finance, so the price of the area for economic business in the terminal is very popular," said Popik.

However, Popik stated, anyone who fills in by doing business in this Type A Terminal, must prioritize order.

"On the condition that whoever fills it later can be orderly, neat and can maintain cleanliness," he said.

Not just a place to get on and off passengers
Popik said that the presence of the terminal is not only a place for passengers to get off and on, but also has an impact on the economy of the people in Papua.

Therefore, Popik said, the presence of the Type A Terminal is not only a means and infrastructure for public transportation in Jayapura City, but is able to become a means of economic improvement for Papuans.

"Our current terminal concept is not just getting on and off passengers, but all activities, both economic and social, can run together in the terminal. Of course, with the presence of this terminal, the community will experience direct impacts, especially economic and social impacts," he added.

Online system

Popik said that Type A Terminal has an advantage, namely that the terminal uses an online system, so that every passenger will be registered online.

“System online terminal. This means that we no longer manually data data on passengers one by one, but passengers who enter are directly hit by the camera and the data will be inputted into a national server in Jakarta," he said.

The existence of this type A terminal is also equipped with a City Traffic Control Center.

“The presence of the City Traffic Control Center is certainly very good. As evidence to prove when an incident occurs, so that it can prove whether this happened or not, and so on,” said Popik.

"We are still holding the terminal modernization without leaving the old terminal feeling here," he concluded.

Mayor's Message

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Jayapura, Benhur Tommy Mano, revealed that the presence of the Type A Terminal will give Jayapura a new face.

"The presence of this terminal will be a means and infrastructure for the flow of public transportation, but will also be able to improve the economy of the people in Jayapura City," he said.

Therefore, Mano asked all residents in Jayapura City together to maintain cleanliness by not littering, so that this terminal remains clean of garbage.

"I ask all citizens, especially users of public transportation services in Jayapura City to jointly maintain and care for this terminal by not littering," he asked.

Not only that, Mano asked all residents to maintain security and comfort at Terminal Type A, generally in Jayapura City.

"Let's create a safe, comfortable and peaceful Jayapura City. To be a city for everyone while maintaining the comfort of this city," he said.
