Freeport Assists IDR 170 Million, Supports the Implementation of the Kamoro Tribe Community Reconciliation Service in Kokonao
PT. Freeport Indonesia provided assistance in the form of fuel oil (BBM) and food ingredients (bama) for the Kamoro Tribe Council (Lemasko) at the Kuala Kencana Community Affair office, Thursday (21/4/2022).
Deputy Chair I of Lemasko, Dominikus Mitoro, symbolically accepted the assistance given by the Local Institutional Relations Manager of the Community Affair Division, Ricardo Komul.
It is known, the fuel and bama assistance aims to support the reconciliation worship activities of the Kamoro community in Kokonao, West Mimika District, Sunday (24/4/2022) tomorrow.
Ricardo explained that the assistance was given as a form of Freeport's concern and participation in the activities of the local Kamoro community.
Ricardo hopes that this assistance can support the success of the Kamoro tribal community reconciliation activities.
"So based on a letter of request from the organizing committee for the spiritual reconciliation of the Kamoro tribal community, then it was approved and given assistance according to the standards provided by Freeport."
"This assistance is to support community activities so that they run smoothly and well," said Ricardo through a release received by Tribun-Papua.com.
The assistance provided included 10 thousand liters of gasoline type fuel, 1,000 liters of oil, and food ingredients.
If totaled in total, the assistance is worth Rp. 170,848,010 (Rp 170.8 million).
Ricardo explained that the assistance was handed over through Lemasko as an official institution for the Kamoro tribe and also as a partner of PT Freeport Indonesia.
“We submitted it through Lemasko led by Gergorius Okoare based on the MoU 2000 as an institution that partners with Freeport. Furthermore, Lemasko will forward it to the organizing committee for worship activities," he explained.
Deputy Chairman I of Lemasko, Dominikus Mitoro, admitted that he was very grateful that Freeport supported the activities held by the Kamoro tribal community.
"Thanks to PT Freeport Indonesia for not remaining silent about the success of the Kamoro community's activities."
"We will use this aid to serve the community." he said.
Dominikus, who is also the Chair of the Reconciliation Worship Committee, invited the Kamoro tribal community, from Nakai to Potowayburu to maintain good relations with Freeport.
"So this good relationship is maintained forever because Freeport has always been there for the Mimika community, especially the Kamoro tribe," he said.
He added that this assistance will reach the people in Kokonao and can be put to good use.
"Let's work together to keep Freeport operating smoothly," he said.
