Separatists Burn Schools, Kapolda: How Papuan Young Generation Can Advance
The Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri said he was concerned about the burning of the school building by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). The arson action was unreasonable because it would have an impact on children's education.
"How can the younger generation of Papua be advanced and intelligent if school buildings are burned and their teachers are persecuted," said Inspector General of Police Fakhiri in Jayapura, Friday.
He said that all parties, including the KKB, should maintain the building, both school buildings and health facilities. By going to school, children will be able to read and write and will be able to continue their education to a higher level.
"However, if buildings are burned and teachers are mistreated, there will be a setback in the field of education," said Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Pol Fakhiri.
Fakhiri hopes that KKB or any other group will no longer burn public facilities so that children can go to school and those who are sick can seek treatment at the puskesmas or other health facilities.
"Let's all take care of all educational and health facilities, so that children can get an education like children in other areas," hoped the Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Pol Fakhiri.
The KKB led by Undius Kogoya and Aibon Kogoya, Wednesday (30/3) burned the one-roof elementary-junior high school building in Hipadipa, Intan Jaya Regency and also persecuted residents, one of whom was a teacher.
