Jayapura City Government Becomes Barometer of QRIS Utilization for ETPD in Papua

The Jayapura City Government (Pemkot) is fully committed to encouraging the use of the Indonesian Standard Quick Response Code (QRIS) in the application of Regional Government Electronic Transactions (ETPD) to become a barometer in Papua.
 
Acting Mayor of Jayapura Frans Pekey, after participating in the socialization of optimizing the ETPD policy through the use of QRIS, which was held by Bank Papua in Jayapura, Friday (19/8/2022).
 
"This afternoon we participated in the socialization of optimizing the ETPD policy with the use of QRIS, this is a concrete manifestation of the City Government to create a smart city, because the service process will be carried out digitally," he explained.

Frans said the socialization of optimizing the ETPD policy through the use of QRIS was attended by all OPD leaders within the Jayapura City Government.
 
"This, of course, we must encourage the use of QRIS in increasing Regional Original Income (PAD), through taxes and levies, as well as other transactions, such as payment processing at schools, health centers, and I ask that it also be used for MSME groups assisted by OPD," he explained.

He further explained, using the QRIS channel can simplify various payment processes, be efficient, clean, and trustworthy.

"The goal is to optimize the use of QRIS, to facilitate, expedite, and provide a sense of security and comfort, in making payment transactions for the people of Jayapura City, Papua," said Frans.
 
On that occasion, his party welcomed the appreciation from Bank Papua, related to the use of QRIS so far in the Jayapura City Government.
 
"Jayapura City Government is committed to continue to improve, develop, and improve the quality of electronic-based government services in realizing e-government," he said.

This can of course be done with various programs, one of which is being carried out with the ETPD, according to Presidential Instruction Number 3 of 2021 to accelerate the electronification of regional government payment systems.
 
"I urge OPD devices and the public to be able to use or take advantage of QRIS, in order to move towards a digital economy," he said.

Finally, he is optimistic that the people of Jayapura City can adapt more quickly to the flow of digitalization, including the use of QRIS in the payment process.

"The people of Jayapura City are intelligent and smart people, for that I believe they can accept this update," he concluded.
