Jayapura City Government encourages fish processing SMEs to have certificates
The City Government (Pemkot) of Jayapura, Papua Province encourages the asar fish processing industry on the scale of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region to have a processing feasibility certificate.
The Head of the Jayapura City Fisheries Service, Matheys Sibi in Jayapura, Friday, said that this processing feasibility certificate is important to encourage the improvement of the quality of the MSME processing results.
"In addition, we will also fix the feasibility of food and sales permits which will later be issued by the Jayapura City One Stop Licensing and Investment Office," he said during the inauguration ceremony for the utilization of the asar fish management unit building.
He explained that currently there are 72 Fish Processing Units (UPI) assisted by the Jayapura City Fisheries Service, but only 10 UPIs currently have facilities and infrastructure.
"However, only one UPI that complies with the standards of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries is currently being inaugurated," he said.
He ensured that the budget for the construction and rehabilitation of 72 UPIs was sourced from the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) of the Jayapura City Fisheries Service worth Rp. 162 million.
Matheys also hopes that BUMN and BUMD can provide assistance through social responsibility (CSR) programs for the completeness of UPI building facilities and infrastructure.
The inauguration of the UPI building by Assistant II for the Economy and Development of the Jayapura City Secretariat Widi Hartanti, in Hamadi, Jayapura City, Friday (9/9).
