Perum Bulog Papua urges the public to take advantage of the cheap food market

The Bulog Regional Office for Papua and West Papua appealed to the local community to take advantage of the cheap market to stabilize food prices in Cenderawasih Earth.
 
Head of Bulog Regional Office for Papua and West Papua, Raden Guna Dharma, told Antara in Jayapura, Wednesday, that the cheap market was held in the local office yard.

In addition, said Raden Guna Dharma, his party is also collaborating with Rumah Pangan Kita (RPK) in Keerom, Sarmi, Wamena, Kota and Jayapura Regencies.
 
"This cheap market will last until December 2022, so people are expected to visit the existing booths," he said.
 
According to Guna, looking at price developments in traditional markets, there are several food prices that have increased prices such as cooking oil, sugar and rice.
 
"So in this low-cost market we sell according to the Highest Retail Price (HET)," he said.
 
He explained that at the low-cost market, his party sells cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14 thousand per liter, premium rice at Rp. 56,500 per five kilos, then medium rice at Rp. 9 thousand per kilo and granulated sugar at Rp. 14,500 per kilo.
 
"With the cheap market, it is hoped that it will stabilize food prices and control inflation in Papua," said Guna.
 
He added that all stocks are in safe conditions, including cooking oil, sugar, and rice which are stable for the next seven months so that people don't need to panic.
 
"People are welcome to take advantage of the cheap market and don't be afraid about stock availability," he said.

Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, Wednesday (14/9), asked all regions to be aware of the rate of increase in inflation, especially in food commodity prices.

Airlangga Hartarto also asked regional heads to take extra steps in maintaining price stability in the market, so that the inflation rate can be below 5 percent.
