The Governor of Waterpauw instructs regional heads to immediately draw up a 2023 RAPBD

Acting Governor of West Papua Paulus Waterpauw instructed regents and mayors in the local province to immediately complete the preparation of the 2023 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget Draft.

During the Pre-Working Meeting of West Papuan Regents and Mayors in Manokwari, Thursday, Waterpauw reminded that the preparation of the 2023 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBD) could be completed by the end of October.

"The regent and mayor meeting held in Sorong City next week is a means to synchronize regional programs which must be made quickly because the 2023 APBD must be clear by the end of October," said Waterpauw.

The former Head of the West Papua and Papua Police emphasized that the work programs prepared by each district and city in West Papua can accommodate real performance so that development can directly touch the community.

"We have to really talk about what will be done in 2023 that is in contact with developing issues, especially regarding education and handling disasters that occur like in Sorong City," he explained.

In addition to the program, he also asked regional heads to focus on the achievements that have been achieved so that they will be considered in further handling.

"Although we have received various awards, this is not our target, but welfare that is in favor of the community, the main thing is that awards are just a bonus," continued Waterpauw.

In 2022, the West Papua Provincial Government received an award from the Ministry of Finance for its success in suppressing the inflation rate.

"The DID bonus (regional incentive funds) from the Ministry of Finance is Rp. 10.75 billion. Manokwari also gets a bonus of Rp. 10.41 billion, Sorong City of Rp. 10.66 billion. This is our concern so that this achievement can increase," said Waterpauw.

If necessary, continued Waterpauw, the achievements that have been successfully implemented will be posted or announced in the city center so that the public understands and understands that the government is not just silent.
