Using the Special Autonomy Fund, DPMK OAP Gives Machine Assistance to OAP Farmers
Using Special Autonomy funds, the Village Community Empowerment Service and Papuan Indigenous People (DPMK-OAP) Papua Province provide machine assistance to Papuan indigenous farmers in several districts.
Before handing over the machine, the agency also provided training on how to turn on the machine to produce food products according to the materials available at the machine-building site in Waena. On that occasion, led by the Head of Service, each participant from Keerom and Boven Digoel was given training and the participants were very enthusiastic.
Head of the Village Community Empowerment Service and Papuan Indigenous People (DPMK and OAP) Yopi Murib said that he saw the needs of the community and their groups in Papua when the local government assisted with activities such as large sago and coffee production and it would bring in external workers who had capable and native children are eliminated but with a machine like this it will be right on target to OAP because it uses Otsus funds.
But said Yopi, with a machine like this according to the needs in the Regency according to the commodity, the people's income will be very direct.
“So I think if we present a big coffee product, it can be just a dream, because it only employs other people. But it turns out that we need a simple tool with this kind of training,” he said.
He said that it could not also be helped through machines alone, but that there had to be serious training, so the government did that with special autonomy funds.
"Although we help machine managers, we also provide training for the community, so that they know how to use these machine tools properly and provide benefits," he said.
“We have helped in Jayawijaya, in Merauke eucalyptus oil machines in Nabire for livestock business, Jayapura District for machines, all from Mr. Made's work, also Doiyai training on coffee machines, with two coffee grinders and dry peelers, Boven Digoel, Puncak Ilaga ,
The machineries for corn, rice and sago, all come from special autonomy sources, this year we will only focus on this district," he said.
He hopes that all beneficiaries can make good use of the facilities and provide a good economic impact.
"For the trainees, my advice after the exercise is to take this machine well maintained, and can be developed so that there is sufficient income and don't rely on the government anymore, this little thing if managed properly will be very beneficial," he said.
He said that as a government, his party is not always present at all times, so with the existing groups they must understand the machine.
"We feel that the benefits are extraordinary and this is in accordance with the Papua governor's vision and mission with the Special Autonomy funds, let's use it well," he said.
As the creator of the machine Drs. I Made Budi, M.Si said that with the trust from the provincial government, especially the Village Community Empowerment Service and indigenous Papuans. How to utilize local technology with Otsus funds, he made the machine adapted to local Papuan habits with existing commodities.
"Sometimes the machine is super sophisticated but because it doesn't suit local needs, finally we have reset the scrap metal for the sago machine for 6 years, so it's very effective for the community to use, it's extraordinary because in 6 hours you can get 30-40 sacks for one sack. the price is Rp. 200,000, we get 30 sacks of X2, it has become Rp. 6 million and only three or four people work while it used to take a long time and there is also technology from outside Papua but there are many mistakes in principle because there is no sago like in Papua which is fibrous so when the tool arriving in Papua will be damaged with the food available,” he explained.
He also hopes that all beneficiaries can take advantage of the machine facilities that have been provided because if they are damaged they will still provide a guarantee to repair directly so that the tool is expected to benefit Papuans in improving the industry with the food they have.
“Because Papua has abundant wealth, this machine will make it easier for indigenous Papuan farmers and this is the best solution that is carried out by the Head of the DPMK Service, Yopi Murib. We hope that there will be continued cooperation for the progress of Papua," he said.
One of the beneficiaries, Bonevasious Pisakor said that he and the farmer group from Keerom district were very grateful and grateful for the special autonomy funds that could be right on target by providing tools and training like this.
"I feel very extraordinary and make us touched because this kind of assistance was never received by our parents, their parents planted corn from planting and did not think about how to produce it to generate income because there is no way, there is also no assistance like this. We express our gratitude to DPMK The province, namely the head of the Yopi Murib service, is very extraordinary, and the direct training by the machine maker is extraordinary. We express our gratitude. In the future, we will advance with this technology, for rice and corn," he said.
