MSME actors in Salawati Sorong hold a tourism-based culinary exhibition



MSME actors in the Salawati District, Sorong Regency, West Papua Province held an archipelago culinary market to boost the economy and assist local governments in efforts to control inflation.

The Indonesian culinary market based on tourism, initiated by MSME actors in the Salawati District, is centered at Rainbow Tourism Park, which was officially opened by the Expert Staff of the Regent for Economics and Finance, Gesang Supratjahjo, Monday.

Gesang Supratjahjo gave his appreciation to the MSME actors in the Salawati District, Sorong Regency, who initiated their own self-help to hold the Indonesian culinary market activity.

According to him, this kind of activity is very helpful for the local government's efforts to control inflation, which is still quite high in the area.

He hopes that culinary market activities like this will continue to be carried out, so that they can improve the community's economy, especially for SMEs in Sorong district.

In addition to the culinary market, he said, the public must also carry out a national movement to control food inflation by planting food crops in every yard of the house.

"The movement to plant food crops is an effort to control inflation and to strengthen the food security of the people in Sorong district," he said.

The head of the Salawati District, Ngatijo, expressed his appreciation for the local MSME players who had initiated activities that were beneficial for economic growth and assisted the government in overcoming inflation.

"I hope that this activity will not only be carried out for a week and then end, but will continue to be carried out in the future so that MSMEs continue to progress and prosper," said Ngatijo.

The chairman of the Nusantara Salawati Culinary Market Committee who is also the manager of Rainbow Majener Tourism Park, Minarno stated that the activity was an initiative of the MSMEs as a rising movement for economic improvement.

Minarno explained that the Rainbow Majener Tourism Park was built independently. Then collaborate with MSMEs in the Salawati District to sell culinary products so that they rise and move forward together.

"The purpose of this activity is only one, namely the progress of MSMEs in Sorong district both in terms of quantity and quality," he added.
