The Jayapura City Government is targeting an investment of IDR 3.26 T

The City Government or Jayapura City Government stipulates the Regional Development Plan or RPD 2023-2026 based on Regional Regulation Number 30 of 2022.
In the RPD which was discussed with the Regional People's Legislative Council or the Jayapura City DPRD, one of them was increasing the investment and business climate until 2026 by IDR 3.26 trillion.

"The Jayapura City Government makes it easy for investors to do business and provides ease of business regulation," said the Head of the Jayapura City Bappeda, Rory Cony Huwae, in Jayapura, Saturday (24/12/2022).

The Jayapura City Government is optimistic, because in 2021 the investment value will be at IDR 8.16 trillion and in 2022 it will increase to IDR 9.84 trillion. However, during the transition period for regional heads, in this case the mayor, in 2026 it will drop to IDR 3.26 trillion.

“Entrepreneurs need certainty. Therefore, with the ease of investment and doing business, it can give investors confidence to enter," he said.

In addition to ease of investment, it is also supported by per capita income, trends, the political and security situation, the industrial and economic situation as well as the condition of available facilities and infrastructure.

Based on data from the Jayapura City Bappeda, gross regional domestic product or GRDP is at 3.28 percent in 2021 from 1.67 percent in 2020. Inflation in Jayapura City from 0.75 in 2020 to 1.7 in 2021, poverty line from 34, 79 percent to 11.39 percent.
 
"If investment increases, it will boost the economy, because increased investment can trigger economic growth due to increased investment, which results in increased production of goods and services," he said.

Rory Huwae hopes that more and more people will be involved and enjoy productive economic results to support quality economic growth, thereby opening up broad employment opportunities in the real sector.
