BUMN appreciates talents from Papua to contribute to the economy and community empowerment

Perum Perhutani recruited 13 new employees of native Papuan children in a series of Joint SOE 2020 Recruitment Programs. The Indonesian Human Capital Forum as the organizers of activities carried out the peak of PPB BUMN inauguration activities in Papua and West Papua at Pertamina Main Building.

The event was attended by SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Perhutani Kemal Sudiro, Director of General Human Resources and IT, FHCI Chairperson Herdy Harman, Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati, and PT Freeport Indonesia Director Calus Wamafma who are indigenous Papuans.

In his remarks Erick Thohir emphasized that the joint recruitment program for Papua and West Papua was not a political policy, but a compassion for the people of Papua.

"BUMN as an engine of economic growth is one of the main elements to achieve the national ideals of becoming a developed country. The SOE Ministry appreciates the talents of Papua and West Papua for directly contributing to creating added value to the economy and empowering people, "Erick Thohir added.

On the same occasion Herdy Harman said that SOEs faced challenges in the era of digital disruption and welcomed the information technology-based industry revolution 4.0.

According to him to prepare SOE talents, including those from the provinces of Papua and West Papua, the FHCI urges SOEs to practice the concept of human resource management that includes aspects of people, culture, organization, and digitizing process so as to form talents with strong character, love for the motherland, empowered high competitiveness, collaboration, and creating added value.

Meanwhile Kemal Sudiro said that Perhutani had received 13 new employees of native Papuans who would be placed in each Regional Division.

"Furthermore, this new employee will undergo education at Perhutani Corporate University (Corpu) Madiun. I hope they take advantage of this opportunity to further enhance their knowledge, abilities or skills as well as understanding the Corporate Values ​​before placement ", explained Kemal.
