Ifar Besar Village will be developed into a tourist village

Jayapura Regency Government will make Ifar Besar Village in Sentani District a tourist village. The plan was submitted by the Regent of Jayapura, Mathius Awoitauw after attending the service at GKI Inri Phulende Ifar Besar Village, Sunday (02/09/2020).

Mathius Awoitauw stated that Ifar Besar Village had a strategic location and could become a tourist destination. The holding of the National Sports Week or PON XX Papua 2020 opens the opportunity of Ifar Besar Village to become a tourist village.

"The village of [Ifar Besar] is very close to Sentani Airport. Every guest who comes can be invited to just rest and enjoy the local food provided, "said Awaoitauw. Besides being easily accessible, Ifar Besar Village is also of historical value. Kampung Ifar Besar is the entrance gate of gospel preaching in Lake Sentani.

"[On the north coast of Papua], the preaching of the gospel starts from the bay area in Metudebi, then to Genyem. The Sentani people at that time went to fetch him in, and the gospel message began from here, [Phulende] Ifar Besar Village, to spread to all villages, from east to west, "Awoitauw said.

He stated that the construction of an alternative road connecting Telaga Ria in East Sentani District to Yabaso in Sentani District would support the development of Ifar Besar Village as a tourist village. Awaoitauw asked people not to remain silent and become victims of the growth of the Sentani region as the capital of Jayapura Regency.

Awoitauw stated that Ifar Besar Village had to be cultivated and arranged. He hoped that the Government of Ifar Besar Village and the residents together would actively guard the Ifar Besar Village. Awoitauw asked the residents to guard against drunk people from roaming around the village.

"There must be a better change than in the past. This is an opportunity and an opportunity that must be put to good use. Of course the local government will provide support, "said Awoitauw.

On that occasion, Head of Ifar Besar Village, Arnold Yoku said that the Village Government and residents supported the Jayapura Regency Government's development program. Arnold stated that Ifar Besar Village is close to the city. Transportation facilities such as cars and motorcycles can enter the end of the village.

"Long before the Papuan PON XX drum was sounded, this village had opened up and organized the village. Even though it has not been maximized, slowly [the arrangement] will continue. This will be a joint effort between the Village Government and the community, "Yoku said.
