Jayapura MPO HMI invites residents to succeed Papuan PON

The Islamic Branch of the Jayapura Branch Rescuers' Assembly (HMI) invited all citizens in Papua Province to succeed in organizing the XX PON.

"We invite the entire community, both the youth component, traditional leaders, religion, and women to jointly oversee the implementation of PON XX 2020 in Papua successfully," said Chairman of the HMI MPO Jayapura Branch Abdul Gofur Karepesina accompanied by management and members in Jayapura City, Friday .

The implementation of PON XX in Papua, he said, was a historic moment and would not be repeated if this was not supported by all components to be a special note, that Bumi Cenderawasih had held national-scale events.

"PON XX in Papua is one of the most memorable moments that here we can introduce our customs and culture of tolerance, how we introduce athletes and officials who will visit here," he said.

For this reason, Abdul appealed to all parties to jointly maintain security stability so that the PON could be carried out safely and comfortably.

"We strongly condemn all parties who want to try to frustrate PON XX 2020 in Papua and we also appeal to all Jayapura City and Regency communities to participate in overseeing the implementation of XX PON 2020 in Papua," he said.

Abdul said that the contribution of the Jayapura Branch HMI MPO in the successful implementation of PON XX 2020, a number of cadres of youth organizations have been registered as volunteers and local committees.

"I think so, what is our contribution, what is the participation of friends in the PON XX 2020 activities is part of education as well as exploration of our understanding in the HMI to participate in carrying out all matters relating to humanity and society in Papua, "he said.

On that occasion, Abdul asked the local government and security forces to close all circulation of liquor, both local and manufacturer's production so as not to circulate during the implementation of PON XX.

"We also urge the public not to be easily provoked by hoax news and not to spread news that is not necessarily true. Let's join hands in presenting this national agenda, both the PON and the elections," he said.
