TNI Introduces Basic Computer Science to Middle School Students at the Border

The RI-PNG Border Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) RI-PNG Yonif MR 411 / PDW Kostrad held an introduction to basic computer science activities for students at SMP 5 Muting, Ulilin District. The aim is to build a superior and modern frontier generation of young people.

Dansatgas Pamtas RI-PNG Infantry Battalion Raider 411 / PDW Kostrad Major Inf Rizky Aditya S. Sos revealed, the use of Information Technology (IT) which is currently growing rapidly is expected to be able to improve the quality of Human Resources (HR) superior, especially among young people .

However, the limited facilities and infrastructure is a barrier for students who are on the border. It is known that there are about ± 200 junior high school students in the Pos Kotis target area and there is no Computer Science study material yet.

"For this we innovate, by utilizing IT as one of the knowledge that must be possessed by a student, through the introduction and providing basic knowledge about computers," said Dansatgas.

The introduction of basic computer science for students in SMP Negeri 5 Muting was the first time being carried out, due to the lack of facilities. But even though topographically, they live on the border, their knowledge must be able to compete with children in the city, especially in mastering technology.

We hope that through this introduction and learning, students will have new experiences and knowledge about computers, and hopefully it will be useful in delivering superior and modern young Papuan students to Indonesia.

Seeing the activities carried out by the TNI, the Principal of Muting 5 Middle School, Muhammad Huzain, appreciated the introduction of basic computer science activities carried out by the Task Force Task Force MR 411 / PDW Kostrad, Pos Kotis.

"We are very grateful for this activity, the hope that the knowledge provided can be useful for students in the future, even though there is no subject matter at school, at least they gain new experience from current technological advancements," he said.
