The Jayapura Regency Government continues to disseminate information about the successful implementation of the National Sports Week (PON) in Papua in 2020. The regency government emphasized that the implementation of PON in Papua, especially in Jayapura Regency, must be free from the circulation of liquor and drugs.

This was supported by the Jayapura City Solidarity Anti-Alcohol and Drugs (SAMN) together with the Jayapura Regency Youth Care Forum (FP3). This youth community continues to push for the implementation of XX PON 2020 in Papua to be without alcoholic beverages (minol).

The Chairman of Jayapura City's Anti-Miras and Narcotics Solidarity, Anias Lengka, said the momentum of PON 2020 in Papua must be devoid of interest, especially in the four host districts / cities.

"Jayapura City, Jayapura, Mimika, and Merauke Regencies must be free from the distribution of minol during the PON 2020 event," said Lengka. He said not to let this minol damage the image of the Papuans as hosts in the eyes of PON athletes and visitors from outside Papua who visited Papua.

Meanwhile, Iche Murib, representing Papuan women, also stressed that for the younger generation of Papuans to stay away from drugs and drug abuse because two items will damage their future.

"For those who have never tried it and who often consume it, please reduce it, because young Papuans are now dying in vain because of alcohol and drugs, as a result it has a negative impact on families, children and work activities," said Iche.

Supporting this, several related institutions in the context of eradicating the circulation of Miras in Jayapura Regency held a joint meeting. "PON Papua, especially in Jayapura Regency must be free of alcohol, especially drugs," said Assistant 1 Secretary of Jayapura Regency, Rahman Basri after a joint meeting.

Jayapura Regency Government will build a guard post located around the city boundary between Jayapura Regency and Jayapura City. In addition, the Regency Government through Satpol PP will continue to patrol and monitor the entry of Miras in Jayapura Regency.
