Mimika Regency Government honorary staff is OAP's right

Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng stressed he would empower native Amungme and Kamoro children as honorary staff within the local government. Eltinus Regent has even spoken to native children of the region to check non-Papuan honorary staff within the Mimika Regency Government.

"I reiterate again, I recently told the sons and daughters of the region that please sweeping the honorary migrants," he said at the Mimika Regency Government Headquarters, Monday (17/2).

According to him, employing native children of the region is based on the 2001 Special Autonomy Law. So that is the right of the sons of the area, because it is our shared responsibility.

The Regent said, in the 2018 formation CPNS test that was carried out in mid-2019, none of the original Papuan children Amungme and Kamoro had passed. To accommodate local sons who did not pass the CPNS test, Eltinus Regent admitted he would include them as honorary staff within the Mimika Regency Government.

"That's why I said to just enter the honorarium, the place that you are someone else who is filled so it's better to leave," he said.

He added, with regard to honorary staff who pocketed the Regent's Decree, it was not a guarantee to remain an honorary staff, because it could be canceled. Moreover, Eltinus continued, so much of the budget was poured only to pay the salaries of temporary workers in Mimika Regency.

"The budget is huge, but 1 trillion more goes to the salary of the honorary (employee expenditure)," he said.

In fact, he said, Mimika needed a very large budget for development. But now honorary recruits from everywhere are burdening the budget so there is no budget for development.
