Papuan students studying in China thanked President Jokowi

Students from West Papua who study in China with their families thank the government of the Republic of Indonesia, especially President Joko Widodo for their policy of returning them to the country to avoid the corona virus.

He also expressed his gratitude to the government of West Papua Province who had communicated with the central government so that nine students from Sorong who were studying in China returned to their families safely.

Ridwan Iribaram, who currently serves as the Head of the Sorong City Fire and Rescue Service, said that before returning to West Papua his son along with eight of his friends for 14 days underwent examination in Natuna.

According to him, West Papua medical students were said to have been declared by the medical team that they were free of the corona virus and were allowed to return to West Papua so that people in the city of Sorong need not worry.

He acknowledged that when he got information about the corona virus outbreak, he and his wife were very worried and kept praying to the Almighty God so that their children would be given salvation.

"All because of God's help our child and his colleagues returned to Sorong safely and were welcomed with great happiness by the family," he said.
