The issuance of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2020 concerning the Acceleration of Support of the XX National Sports Week (PON) and XVI National Paralympic Year 2020 in Papua Province, the construction of the three venues will be accelerated.

The three venues that will be competed for are the archery, rowing and roller skating venues. The budget reaches Rp 135 billion. Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali, said the construction of the three venues will be carried out in the near future.

"For the construction of three venues in accordance with the mandate of the PON Acceleration Presidential Instruction there are several obstacles. But it has already been discussed, for example there is a change of place, then there is material that must be imported from Papua, we understand that. For the event test itself, said Zainudin, returned to each branch of sports (sports). "When they (sports) want to do an event test. The most important thing is the readiness of the venue is ready for the implementation (PON XX). In general we don't need to worry about Papua hosting the PON XX, "he said.

Acting Head of the Papua Sports and Youth Agency (Kadisorda) Alex Kapisa, added that the construction of the three venues must be completed in August 2020 according to the contract agreement.

Archery venues will be built in Kampung Harapan (behind the Papua Bangkit Stadium), rowing venues in Youtefa Bay, and roller skating venues at Bumi Perk camp (Buper) Wanea.
