West Papua Targets Champion in Pesparani 2020 Event

West Papua Province is targeting the champion in the 2020 national Catholic Church Choir Party (Pesparani) which will be held in Kupang next October.

Chairperson of the Regional Catholic Pesparani Development and Development Institute (LP3KD) of West Papua Province, Dr. Robert K. Hammar said, would send, 700 people consisting of 15 Pastors, 260 choir participants. The rest are supporters.

"The total number of participants who took part in the competition was only 260 people who will participate in 13 types of competitions. But we will come complete with a supporting committee and cheerleading groups of approximately 700 representatives from 13 districts, "he said.

He explained, West Papua Governor Dominggus Mandacan along with his Deputy Mohamad Lakotani would lead the West Papuan Pesparani contingent directly to Kupang, October 2020.

"In addition to participating in the Pesparani competition, we will also participate in the Nusantara Weaving Festival which will be held in between these pesparani in Kupang," he added.

He asserted, despite setting a champion target, but more than that the Pesparani event was more used as a meeting of fellow Indonesian compatriots and compatriots.

"In addition to the champion target, we are here in Kupang to meet our relatives, to have a party to have fun together," he said.

Although the nuances of the Catholic ecclesiastical spirit, this second pesparani became an arena to increase friendship and national fraternity.
