Development of PON XX Facilities in Papua in Accordance with the Target

PROVINCE Papua will host the XX PON in 2020. The construction of the venue or venue for the XX National Sports Week (PON) in Indonesia's easternmost province is certain to continue according to the specified target.

The PUPR Ministry has built 80 percent of the venues that will be available. Prepare 12 buildings with a capacity of 1,816 people. This was appreciated by the Ministry of PUPR for the development of PON infrastructure whose progress was faster than planned.

The Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR through the XVIII Papua National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) is also ready to support the implementation of the PON XZ with various road widening and preservation activities, as well as the construction of sidewalks and drainage roads to support mobilization access to and from the Venue PON location.

In its preparation, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), through the Directorate General of Human Settlements, is preparing a program to organize four sports arenas to support the implementation of XX PON in Papua Province.

Chairperson of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI), Marciano Norman said that the construction of the PON XX venue was divided into 3 clusters namely the City and Regency, Timika, Jayapura and Merauke which would be completed on time.

Marciano also had high hopes that all the venues built in the three clusters, after the PON XX could be utilized by the Papua Provincial government for various events. So that later Bumi Cenderawasih will have quality athletes who can raise the name of Papua in the national and international arena.

It is time for Papua to show its talents and all the ability to hold PON XX, for all the efforts made by the central government and the Provincial Government of Papua, of course Papua's readiness to host PON XX is not in doubt.
