Monday, March 23, 2020. At around 08.00 East Indonesian Time, the Casa CN A-2909 aircraft belonging to the Indonesian Air Force crossed the Gunung Bintang regency, Papua. Suddenly the clatter of bullets hit the wall of the plane.

Apparently there was an unknown person shooting at the plane. That was confirmed by Kapendam XVII / Cenderawasih Kol Cpl Eko Daryanto in Jayapura.

"The shooting was carried out while the plane was flying in the area of ​​the Bintang Mountains Regency," said Col Cpl Eko Daryanto.

The Free Papua Organization (OPM) on The TPNPBNews Facebook Fanpage account claimed responsibility for the shooting of the TNI aircraft.

They called the aircraft fired on the Star Mountains, the type of ATR. The plane could not fly back and was still parked at Oksibil airport.

"After dropping TNI / POLRI military forces twice at Oksibil, it was successfully paralyzed by elite TPNPB troops in the Animal Mountains," said the Commander of the Ngalum Kupel OPM Kodap, Lamek Taplo, as reported by The TPNPBNews.

"I as the leader, we are responsible," he said.

Lamek Taplo added, TPNPB is 47 years old. "We are ready to fight Indonesia until we are independent," he said.
