Papua Police Chief: All Elements of Society Must Synergize to Prevent Corona Virus from Spreading

Papua Regional Police Chief Inspector General Drs Paulus Waterpaw appealed to the people of Papua province to be positive, do not panic and work together in overcoming the pvidemic Covid-19 virus.

Because he added, overcoming corona outbreak requires joint work, mutual cooperation, from all elements of both the local government, military, police, and also the community,

"The regional government together with the TNI and Polri synergize through integrated and integrated handling efforts in providing communication and coordination assistance to the health department when there are findings of patients affected by corona in the area," said Inspector General of Police Drs Paul Waterpaw.

Meanwhile, the community must take a role in participating in maintaining personal health, environmental hygiene, and supporting social distance practices (maintaining distance between individuals) and complying with epidemic management protocols.

The Chief of Police said that he was prepared to carry out a circular issued by the National Police Chief in preventing corona outbreaks in the regions.

In addition, he also gave instructions within the Papua Regional Police so that members of the police could understand how to prevent Corona, the Regional Police Chief also appealed to the public not to panic and be afraid in dealing with the corona virus.

The public should also not be easily provoked by hoax news that cannot be accounted for about the corona outbreak in the region, the Kapolda believes that the central and regional governments are currently making serious efforts in dealing with the corona outbreak.

The Head of Regional Police also invited all elements of the community to jointly prevent the spread of the corona virus, with standards and programs created by the President of the Republic of Indonesia in order to build public awareness so that the ranks of the Papua Regional Police can take a role and comply with operational standards in supporting the government in handling the corona outbreak.
