Papua Regional Police Again Urges Residents to Avoid Crowds

In order to follow up on the advice of the Government and the information of the Indonesian Police Chief to prevent the spread of the Corona or Covid-19 virus, the Papuan Regional Police again appealed to all members of the community to avoid mass gatherings.

In addition, said Kamal, places that were the center of the crowd would be temporarily closed in order to provide protection to the general public.

"We have also worked closely with relevant agencies to temporarily close places that are the center of the crowd as has been done in front of the Governor's Office of Papua Province and a place to gather crowds whether morning, afternoon or night. "The central and regional governments, both provincial and district / city, have issued policies in preventing the spread and handling of Corona Virus (Covid 19)," he continued.

It was said, every citizen who did not heed the information of the National Police Chief and the appeal of the Government would be dealt with firmly in accordance with applicable law.

"If there is still a stubborn society, disregarding the orders of personnel tasked with the interests of the nation and state, we will proceed with Article 212 and Article 216 and 218 of the Criminal Code," he said.
