BIN Papua Backs Up TNI-Polri Law Enforcement Against KKB

Brigadier General Abdul Haris Napoleon as the Head of Papua's National Intelligence Agency (BIN), will fully back up the TNI-Polri in law enforcement against the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

Even to secure the entire Papua region, BIN elements together with Task Force intelligence, regional intelligence will simultaneously provide input to the TNI-Polri in Papua, especially Mimika.

"We will develop and provide input and information related to ongoing activities, as well as the possibility of what will happen in the future, so we will help carry out law enforcement against the KKB including its networks in Mimika," he explained.

This includes securing a National Vital Object against PT Freeport Indonesia's mining operations, and this is a joint task so that there are no more groups within PTFI that support KKB activities or actions, as was carried out by Ivan Sambom, a Freeport security officer who is undergoing legal proceedings because stuck KNPB.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Herman Asaribab Pangdam XVII Cenderawasih supported the National Police's efforts to embrace and invite KKB leaders and sympathizers to return to the Unitary Republic of Indonesia.

"This is a persuasive effort in order to create a conducive and safe Kamtibmas situation in Papua, especially in Mimika. We, the TNI and Polri, invite the community to work together to encourage KKB leaders and sympathizers to return to the Republic of Indonesia, so that together we can develop regions to be more developed like other provinces in Indonesia, "he said.

The number one person at the Cenderawasih Kodam XVII also supported the firm attitude of the police to continue to pursue the Armed Civil Criminal Group (KKSB), which had been carrying out a series of terrorist shootings in Tembagapura and in Timika.

"We support the efforts of the police to dismantle the network that provides support, then the success of cracking down on KKSB perpetrators through the synergy of the TNI and Polri carried out in a planned, chosen, measured and effective manner," he said.

While Arif Nasuha, as VP of Security Risk Management (SRM) of PT Freeport Indonesia, appreciated the TNI-Polri Sibergitas for their success in uncovering the perpetrators of the PTFI office shooting case in Kuala Kencana on March 30, 2020.

"Where the suspect Tandi Kogoya as the executor in the shooting was shot dead by the authorities. We thank you for this success, "he added.
