Handling Economic Impact, West Papua Provincial Government Allocates Funds of Rp. 197.8 Billion

The West Papua Provincial Government is ready to provide a budget for handling economic impacts due to the co-19 outbreak of Rp. 197.8 billion in the form of food aid. The goal is that the community is still awake food at home, getting nutritional intake so it is not susceptible to corona virus.

West Papua Governor, Dominggus Mandacan when delivering food packages for the Sorong Raya region said based on the instructions and decisions of the President as well as the instructions of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, all Ministries / Institutions and Provincial and Regency and City regional governments were required to prepare a co-19 handling budget.

The budget is taken from the 2020 budget funds transition. The amount is based on the instructions of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of the Interior, for West Papua Rp. 197.8 billion.

 "Today we handed over assistance to deal with covid-19 to affected communities in the Sorong Raya region. The corona virus outbreak has stopped various community activities to work so that this will disrupt the community's economy. For West Papua based on a budget inventory of Rp197.8 billion. the budget, we prepare 45,361, "said the Governor of West Papua, Tuesday (28/4).

The food packages will be given to underprivileged people in the Sorong Raya region with details of 21,746 packages for Sorong City, 8,757 packages for Sorong Regency, 4,011 packages for South Sorong, 3,463 packages for Maybrat, 2,811 packages for Tambrauw, and 4,572 packages for Raja Ampat.
