Korem 172 / PWY Jayapura soldiers conduct social service activities to spray disinfectant liquid and distribute groceries to residents in Kampung Nafri Abepura District, Jayapura City, Papua as a concrete manifestation of preventing the spread of the Corona virus (COVID-19).
Korem 172 / Praja Commander Wira Yakthi Col. Inf J. Binsar Parluhutan Sianipar said in the framework of supporting government policies, especially local governments where the Governor of Papua had upgraded the control status of Papua Province's Covid-19 to Emergency Response Status in accordance with Circular Letter No: 440/4637 / SET concerning Prevention, Control and Control of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Papua Province.
"We, the TNI, will continue to support and do everything possible to prevent the spread of Covid-19, especially helping the affected communities today," said Danrem Kodam XVII / Cenderawasih.
Meanwhile, Head of Information for Korem 172 / PWY, Major Chk Eka Yudha, said that the activities carried out in Kampung Nafri were a continuation of the Korem 172 / PWY social service activities caring for the people affected by the COVID-19 virus last Thursday.
"Yesterday we also distributed 400 kg of rice and instant noodles and sugar, tea and coffee to 4 middle mountain student dormitories and 300 food packages to the community in Yabansai, Kamwolker and Waena villages," he said.
In addition, the Korem 172 / PWY social service, he continued, distributed food aid to one of the orphanages in the Jayapura city sky. Eka said, the assistance provided was the same as yesterday, which consisted of daily necessities, hand washing containers and masks.
"Today we are also distributing aid from BRI, which is a place to wash hands to the community in the village of Nafri," he said.
In the future, said Eka, Korem 172 / PWY will also distribute aid to institutions which will then distribute the aid to communities affected by COVID-19 in the Korem 172 / PWY region.
"We are still coordinating with the agency so that it can be implemented as soon as possible and right on target," he said.
