Manokwari Regency Eliminates Prohibition To Go To Other Areas

The Manokwari district government, through the Covid-19 Task Force issued a circular not to provide travel recommendations to the people of Manokwari district who wanted to travel out by land to a number of areas in West Papua.

According to the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Manokwari Regency, Algebra Makatita, the ban was set forth in a circular letter from the Manokwari regent as chair of the Covid-19 Task Force addressed to Bintuni regents, Wondama regents, mayors and regents throughout Sorong Raya as well as the entire Manokwari community.

"Through the circular of the Manokwari regent, the Manokwari regency strictly prohibits giving permits or road recommendation letters to drivers and people who want to travel to neighboring areas," said Algebra Makatita, Sunday (26/4).

It was said through the circular, starting on Monday 27 April 2020 the Covid-19 Task Force in Manokwari Regency did not provide travel recommendations to Bintuni Bay, Wondama Bay and Sorong City and Sorong Raya districts to go and return, until 11 May 2020. .

The task force will only serve recommendations for logistics delivery conducted by Bulog and Pertamina or BBM distribution agents.

In addition, the Task Force did not provide recommendations to transportation on the grounds of selling vegetables and kiosk materials to the districts of Teluk Bintuni, Teluk Wondama, and the cities of Sorong and districts throughout Sorong Raya, except for groceries from distributors.
