The Government of the Province of Papua through the Department of Industry, Trade, SME Cooperatives and Workers of the Province of Papua has formed the Secretariat of the Covid-19 Economic Impact Management Sub Team.
The team worked from April until the next five months with the main task being to channel aid to the people affected by Covid-19 especially to small and medium-sized businesses, workers who have been laid off and laid off workers or formal workers , micro-small businesses or small industries and informal workers.
The head of the Papua Province Disperindagkop and Labor Office, Omah Laduani Ladamay said, the Disperindagkop was given a mandate by the Governor of Papua to tackle the impact of Covid-19 on the economy by providing basic assistance.
He said the temporary closure of airports and seaports for passengers due to the Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on formal and informal workers such as rental drivers, motorcycle taxi drivers, porters.
"The impact on them is that income decreases, some formal workers even get laid off," Laduani said at a meeting to establish the Secretariat of the Covid-19 Economic Impact Management Sub-Papua Province, in Jayapura City, Wednesday (4/15/2020).
Furthermore, other assistance is the provision of stimulants in the form of Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) affected by Covid-19, hand sanitizers, gloves, hygiene kits and revolving fund stimulant assistance.
The Papua Province Covid-19 Economic Impact Management Sub Team is chaired by Sudirman Manik, the Person in Charge by Yahya Itlay, and the Head of the Papua Province Disperindagkop, UKM and Manpower as the Director of the Covid-19 Economic Impact Management Sub Team.
