The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police have taken firm action against 8 KKB members in the past two months

The joint team of the Indonesian National Police continues to strive to create conduciveness in the Papua region. One of them is cracking down on members of armed criminal groups (KKB) who often carry out acts of terror against people in the region.

"We will continue to carry out strict and measured law enforcement by assigning the best members," said Papua Police Chief Inspector General of Police. Paulus Waterpauw, through written statement, Thursday (4/16/2020).

During March-April 2020, Paulus continued, the joint TNI / Polri team carried out law enforcement. Of the eight KKB members, seven of them died because they resisted officers at the time of the arrest.

"In total, there are 8 KKBs carried out by law enforcement. 7 of them we take decisive and measured actions," Paulus said.

The eight KKB members are Nico, Moni Waker, Lani Magay, and Lera Magay, Tandi Kogoya, Manu Kogoya and Ivan Sambom, and Suffering Walia.

The eradication of the KKB was carried out because they often carried out acts of terror, even attacking offices using firearms, killing one employee of PT Freeport some time ago.

From the hands of the terrorists, the joint Indonesian National Police team succeeded in securing five firearms, magazines, bullets, sharp weapons, bows, and other types of terror tools.

"Not only that, we also know and map their hiding places," he said.

According to him, this decisive action proved that the TNI-Polri was serious in eradicating the existence of the KKB because it was disturbing and disturbing security and order in Papua.

"Anyone who tries to disturb security and order in Papua will take firm action," he said.
