Three Regions in Papua Propose PSBB to Prevent Corona

Government spokesman specifically handling the corona virus (covid-19) Achmad Yurianto said three regions in Papua had submitted the application of Large Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) to Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto. The three regions are Sorong, Fakfak, and Mimika.

"Right, Sorong, Fakfak, Mimika (submit)," Yurianto told reporters on Wednesday (8/4).

In Papua alone, corona positive cases reached 26 people as of 8 April 2020. While in West Papua as many as two people.

So far, Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto has only given PSBB permits in DKI Jakarta Province. Meanwhile, a number of buffer zones in Jakarta, said Yurianto, have also proposed implementing PSBB namely Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi, but there has been no agreement.

"It's Bekasi, Bogor regency / city, Depok, Tangerang city, South Tangerang. That said they have submitted, but what I've seen (submission) is only Sorong," he said.

According to the procedure, the PSBB submission will first be reviewed by a team from the Ministry of Health and other ministries / institutions. Later on from the results of the study the team will decide whether the implementation of the PSBB is permissible.

"There are teams that judge by case, local transmission, and so on," said Yurianto.
